Terms of Service
Last updated 20 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Housereads. By creating an account, you agree to them. Housereads is run by an individual (Lewis Copper) — for questions, email coppertutoring@gmail.com.
The service
Housereads is a personal library catalog: you add books, track what you've read, and optionally share your shelves with people in your household.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything that happens under your account.
- Give us accurate information when you register.
- Each account belongs to at most one household at a time.
Acceptable use
Don't use Housereads for anything illegal, don't try to break or abuse it (including scraping or overloading the underlying book-lookup service), and don't add content you don't have the right to add.
Your content
You own the reviews, ratings, and other content you add. By adding it, you allow Housereads to store it and show it to you and your household, for as long as your account exists.
Household sharing
Anyone in your household can see the books, reading status, and reviews you add. Leaving a household stops that sharing immediately; your books and reviews stay yours.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time, from within the app or via our account deletion page. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
No warranty
Housereads is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Housereads.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
