Housereads

Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 August 2026

Housereads ("we", "us") is a personal library catalog app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Housereads is run by an individual (Lewis Copper), not a company — if you have questions, email coppertutoring@gmail.com.

Information we collect

How we use it

To run the service: storing your library, showing it to you (and to anyone in your household), sending you account-related emails (verification, password resets, household invites), and keeping the app working reliably.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else.

Who can see your library

Your books, reading status, and reviews are visible to you and anyone in your household — never publicly, and never to unrelated Housereads users.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Deleting your account (in-app, or via our account deletion page) permanently removes your account and everything you've added, right away.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — from within the app (Settings › Household › Delete account) or, if you can't log in, from our account deletion page. For any other request (access, correction, export), email coppertutoring@gmail.com.

Children

Housereads isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and login sessions use signed tokens.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
